Welcome to the website of Image Photographic Association, based at Palakkad, Kerala.

Image was founded in 1969, as 'Palakkad Camera Club', by a group of creative camera-enthusiasts led by late Sudhakara Menon who had been the official photographer of the Maharaja of Bikaneer. With him were Madhu Ambat, the well-known cinematographer, late I. Syed Ismail, a trade union leader in the Railways, and A.C. Babujayan, an agriculturist and an organiser of farmers and some other like-minded professional and amateur photographers of Palakkad and surrounding areas. They had the active support of of Ratna Photo Emporium and Murali Photo Centre, the leading studios of Palakkad Town at that time.

The name was changed to 'IMAGE' in 1973 and it was affiliated to the Federation of Indian Photography in the same year. Later Image was also affiliated to the India International Photographic Council. Image continues to be affiliated to these two organisations.

Every month, at 4 pm on the third Saturday, Image members come together for their monthly meeting. Each member brings his latest creations for critical appraisal by the other members. The members also bring their latest acquisitions in equipment for all to see and acquaint themselves with the technical innovations and other specifications.

Image conducts an annual exhibition in December each year, in which the latest creations of the members are exhibited for three days in a prominent gallery in the heart of Palakkad Town. Once in five years, Image conducts an All India Salon with the approval of FIP and IIPC.
